How SA’s ICJ application impacted its foreign policy

The world’s eyes are on the International Court of Justice as it will deliver its judgement on Israel’s genocidal actions in Gaza.

South Africa’s arguments on January 11th showed that it would speak truth to power, even if that power is the United States.

This move is seen as a high-water mark in South Africa’s foreign policy since the end of apartheid, showcasing a departure from the inconsistent stance the country has often been criticized for.
