Employers who knowingly hire undocumented foreign workers are breaking the law.
Delivering his Human Rights Day keynote address in Koster in the North-West, President Cyril Ramaphosa noted that by hiring undocumented foreign nationals, it’s fueling xenophobia.

“South Africa was founded on tolerance, respect for diversity and non-discrimination. And we should therefore not allow ourselves to turn against people who come from beyond the country’s borders,” said the president.
He adds that those wanting to live and work in South Africa must be documented and have the right to be here or work here.
