Covid PCR testing is being scrutinised. This after South Africa’s competition authority is ridiculing the price of Covid PCR testing, which they say has failed to come down. The Polymerase chain reaction test is the gold standard of covid-19 testing and is required for international travel and hospital procedures. The price as it has been standing is around R850 which most South Africans cannot afford.
