Today marks 27 years since Radio 786 first took to the airwaves.
Since then, we’ve pioneered new paths for freedom of speech, and journalistic integrity, all while ensuring that the community we serve is informed, educated, and uplifted.
The station is also a community broadcaster success story; it’s weathered several financial storms, even the ravaging impact that the Covid-19 lockdown has had on all businesses.
While other community radio stations struggled with governance issues, Radio 786 has stepped in and helped them to develop procedures that ensure the longevity of those institutions.
