An aid group has described the recent flooding witnessed in the Western Cape as the worst in a decade. Heavy rains and strong winds lashed the province for a week with the authorities saying that Cape Town was the worst affected.
According to Gift of the Givers a number of areas had experienced flooding leaving people helpless as they had no alternate housing. Community halls and other centres have been shut under the Covid-19 lockdown level 4. This as the country experiences a third wave.
Gift of the Givers says it’s in need of new blankets. They however will not accept second hand items due to Covid-19.
Those wanting to donate can drop-off the blankets at the organisation’s offices in Penlyn Estate or at a Game or Checkers store.
