The situation in South Africa is so bad, that the country may soon be confronted with daily protests due to the high cost of living.

This is the contention of the CEO of the Sharpeville Foundation, Gogo Tsoana Nhlapo. She was speaking as today marks 40 years since Vaal Uprising, which triggered the riots of the mass inequality in Apartheid South Africa.

Nhlapo said that the current government is delusional if it thinks that creating a country palatable for outsiders will improve the lives of citizens. She added that government failed to address the crippling poverty gripping thousands of households.

“Your monthly allowance doesn’t allow you to cover the whole month. This is the current situation that they’re dealing with and if they’re not focused on that, but rather trying to make the country palatable to everybody else except the citizens of South Africa, they’ll find themselves where the previous government found themselves 40 years ago where everything is ungovernable.” said Nhlapo.

She contended that the youth of today do not care that some politicians had been involved in the anti-Apartheid struggle, because their living conditions are so bad.
