Several Gordon’s Bay residents are having to tally the damages caused by yesterday’s high tide.
Spokesperson for Disaster Management in the City of Cape Town, Sonica Lategan says preliminary feedback indicated that some houses were damaged as well as sand and debris in roadways.
Assessments will continue this morning. The City’s Solid Waste department has been mobilised for cleanup operations, along with Traffic services, Law Enforcement and Metro Police.
Motorists heading into the Gordon’s Bay area have been advised to be cautious.
