There is a call for the probe into allegations of sexual misconduct against suspended Western Cape Community Safety MEC Albert Fritz’s to be expanded.
The Good party says it must include his eight-year tenure as Social Development MEC. It says senior officials in his former department must be questioned to determine if they knowingly or unknowingly assisted in what the Good party says bears the hallmarks of a crude sex-for-jobs scheme.
At least four senior officials in the Community Safety Department have been suspended. They are alleged to have procured and groomed young women for Fritz. Advocate Jennifer Williams is investigating the matter.
It’s hoped that she will issue a report within two weeks.
