It’s Day 2 of the International Court of Justice hearing into Israel’s genocidal acts against Palestinians in Gaza. South Africa’s historic case against the Zionist entity accused Israel of violating the 1948 genocide convention.
With more than 23,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, killed during a three-month war, South Africa argues that Israel’s actions in Gaza amount to genocide. But this isn’t the first such case of genocide to mark world history.
In our most recent past, we have cases in Rwanda and Bosnia. But the wheels of justice turn slowly, especially when dealing with state-sponsored genocide.
