Gaza’s last functioning hospital has been bombed.

The US-backed Israeli regime bombed the Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza City destroying the facility’s main entrance, its emergency unit and the facility that stores medical oxygen for intensive care patients.

Israel’s latest attack left doctors scrambling to save the lives of their patients and their own. Critically ill patients were scattered on the streets with one doctor reporting that at least three people – including a boy who was on oxygen having died to the rushed evacuation.

The Al-Ahli Hospital was treating hundreds of patients who sustained life threatening injuries due to the Zionist occupation’s ongoing bombardment on the enclave.

The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza has strongly condemned the attack, holding the US-backed genocidal regime fully responsible for the patient’s death. The ministry stressed that Israel’s blood lust practices constitute a flagrant violation of all international laws and norms that guarantee the protection of patients and medical facilities during times of conflict.

Gaza’s Health Ministry has called on the international community and human rights organisations to take immediate and serious action to put an end to the heinous crimes perpetrated by Israel. It further called for the urgent protection of patients and health sector workers in the Gaza Strip.
