I’m sure most of us have heard about the solar storm, or more formally known as “Aurora Australis” that took place this weekend.

Depending on your location, you were able to witness the breathtaking beauty of the aurora that painted the night sky is deep tinges of orange. For one lucky photographer, he was able to set up camp and document this rarity of mother nature in Gaansbaai.

What makes this moment so special for Hugh-Daniel Grobler is that countries in the southern hemisphere aren’t fortunate enough to see this unlike those staying in the northern hemisphere.
