The FW de Klerk Foundation notes that South Africa’s agriculture sector has been doing well since 1994, and the baseless hysteria caused by US President Donald Trump’s claims are drastically impacting this sector.
This is the contention of former AgriSA Executive Director, Christo van der Rheede. He now serves as the director of the FW de Klerk Foundation.
Last month, President Trump offered refugee status to white Afrikaners and now escalated it to citizenship. Lobby groups AfriForum and Solidarity recently visited the US to discuss South African affairs, including the Expropriation and BELA Acts.
Van der Rheede notes that South Africa’s leaders need to speak with one voice, especially when countering the false claims of Afrikaner interest groups.
