MPs have raised serious concern over allegations that the Justice Department is preventing the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) from gaining access to the state capture commission’s database.

Head of Public Prosecutions, Shamila Batohi made the revelation during a Parliamentary sitting this week.

She stressed that the NPA has been struggling to access the database for the last four years to begin prosecuting those linked to state capture crimes.

The database contains digital evidence gathered by the Zondo commission’s investigators.

The Justice Department and the NPA are set to engage on the matter to allow state capture investigations to continue.
