The police are investigating a fire that claimed the lives of four people in Wesbank.

The City’s Fire and Rescue Services says that two adults and two children were killed in the fire at their home just after midnight.

A 16-year-old girl and a baby managed to escape the blaze with minor burn wounds and have been taken to hospital for treatment.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

It’s alleged that one of the victims is a police officer.
