Police are confident that they are closing the net on the ring leaders behind the spate of truck attacks.

At least five people have been arrested thus far.

The suspects were detained in Mpumalanga and Limpopo.

In a short space of time this month, more than 20 trucks were torched in KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and Limpopo.

The motive for the criminality is still being investigated.

The suspects are expected to appear in court.
