Prof. Rashid Ahmed Hassen Bhikha, 30 August 1945 to 24 November 2023. A life well lived, time well spent, full and focussed, yet too short too and work still to be done. Today we pay tribute to, as he has been called, the Hippocrates of current day Unani-Tibb. Healthwise host, Ferial De Jongh, a past student and early graduate of Unani- Tibb speaks to son, Zain Bhikha world renowned Nasheed Artist amongst others about the family life and lessons around family, community and the space of love he methodically and goal-drivenly worked from.
Various tributes from practitioners from all over South Africa are brought on and read and Practitioners Dr. Zahida Khotu and Dr. Nurjehaan Kisten are linked up with where they share experiences, insights and lessons of courage, tenacity and strife in his work and vision for healthcare in South Africa. Rushni Allie from Radio 786 also joins us to speak about Professor’s contribution and work relationship with Radio 786 and the humaness that came through this.
