Eskom has suffered another blow to its power grid after an explosion occurred at the Medupi Power Station in Limpopo Sunday.
Eskom says the explosion took place on the generator of Unit 4 and is suspected to have caused Unit 5 to trip.
The power utility adds that inspections and assessments will begin once the Fire Department gives engineers access to the area. The extent of damage, as well as the impact of the incident on the national power grid are still unclear at this stage.
