Sheba, the tiger that has been on the loose in Johannesburg has been euthanised.
She was found in a farming area, where she killed a domestic animal.
The local community policing forum’s Gresham Mandy says due to the terrain and area, it was not possible to contain the tiger or secure her safely. The decision was made to euthanise her while it was still safe to do so.
The eight-year-old wildcat escaped at the weekend from a smallholding and attacked a 39-year-old man, a pig and two dogs. The dogs had to be put down due to the injuries they sustained.
