One of the world’s richest man, Elon Musk looks set to own US microblogging and social networking service Twitter.
He struck a R690 billion deal. However, the agreement has yet to be approved by the company’s shareholders.
Musk says Twitter has tremendous potential that he wants to unlock. He has called for a series of changes to relax its content restrictions as well as eradicate fake accounts. Twitter is apparently facing growing pressure to stringently police the content that appears on its platform. In doing so it has censored a number of accounts including those of Palestinian sites.
