Strengthening the trust between citizens and elected representatives through competence, integrity, performance, and delivery should be prioritized.

This is the sentiment shared by President Cyril Ramaphosa. He was delivering the acceptance speech at the Electoral Commission’s Results Operation Centre (ROC) in Tshwane.

During the lead-up to the polls, citizens didn’t shy away from expressing their dissatisfaction with their ward councillors and local governments, demanding improved service delivery.
