Since the inception of South Africa’s democracy, Dr Naledi Pandor has held a position in government. From heading up the country’s Basic and Higher Education Departments, to the Department of Home Affairs; but more notably the Department of International Relations and Co-operation (DIRCO).

Dr Pandor has become a beacon of hope for many South Africans who never shied away from speaking up in the face of oppression. Her voice has also become integral in South Africa’s fight to stand in solidarity with Palestine on the international stage.

After the May 2024 general elections, Dr Pandor stepped down from her ministerial position to make way for younger political blood to continue her legacy.
