DoJ’s IT Systems Attacked

The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development’s IT system is down due to a security breach.

According to spokesperson, Steven Mahlangu, the systems may have been compromised on Monday night due to ransomware, which is spread through malicious attachments to emails.

The attack means that all information systems at the department have been encrypted and are inaccessible to staff and the public.

It’s affected all electronic services provided by the department, including bail services and the DoJ’s website.

Mahlangu meanwhile says that the child-maintenance payments for month-end have already been processed and will not be affected by this breach.

He says that measures have been activated to ensure that the issue does not affect court operations.
