The land claims court has yet again ruled in favour of the District 6 Working Committee.
After numerous attempts for former Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform Maite Nkoana-Mashabane to take responsibility for her ‘reckless and grossly negligent’ conduct towards the committee, as well as allegedly abusing the court system to escape accountability.
The committee says the judgment handed down on the minister was an important one because it or forces her to be held personally accountable by the courts when they evade their official responsibilities. This comes amid the committee’s e effort to ensure that restitution still takes in this day and age.
