Mitchells Plain police are in search of suspects involved in the killing of a man in Bontebok Street in Eastridge. It’s understood occupants in a black VW Golf opened fire on the individual. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but declared deceased by medics.

Police believe the attack which occurred on Friday was gang related. It has asked the community to assist detectives in tracking down the killers.

Mitchells Plain has seen a flare up of deadly terror over the past week. Five people were shot in Varing Street in Lentegeur on Thursday night. Two of them died and three others were injured. The local Community Police Forum says the shooting was in retaliation to the murder of a high-ranking gang member.
