The DA has expressed concern over the ANC potentially hijacking government’s proposed dialogue.
It follows the DA’s federal council chairperson, Helen Zille penning a letter to the ANC’s secretary-general Fikile Mbalula last week expressing her dissatisfaction that the DA is not able to contribute to the dialogue.
During President Cyril Ramaphosa’s opening of Parliament address last month, he stressed that dialogue would take place through which the government of national unity (GNU) would forge a common vision for the country’s future.
However, Zille believes that this isn’t the case.
She adds that the DA and the ANC is a power-sharing government with the ANC central to planning the national dialogue and determining participation and framing a proposed outcome.
