Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis doesn’t understand the real point of a national shutdown.
Spokesperson for the EFF in the Western Cape Wandile Kasibe says the mayor’s comments warning the EFF and all those who wish to participate to not ‘act stupid’, is indicative of his aloofness to the realities of South Africans.
Kasibe stressed that Hill-Lewis will not be able to stop the shutdown from taking place and that the EFF’s demands are simple.
“These people aren’t taking load shedding seriously and their businesses will be impacted for a very long time. We’re saying that President Cyril Ramaphosa must resign because of the fact that there are whole scandals around him as a president of this country.”
