If the current rolling blackouts aren’t enough for South Africa, some energy experts have anticipated that stage 8 load shedding could be rolled out if Eskom doesn’t get its act together.

This is the warning issued by energy expert Mike Rossouw.

Under stage 8, consumers would experience up to 48-hours without power for more than four days. In 2022 alone, 25 days of power outages were recorded.
