The City of Johannesburg is in a vicious cycle of no confidence in elected mayors.

ActionSA now says that the new mayor, Kabelo Gwamanda’s qualifications are questionable. This as there are concerns that the vetting process used for his election may have been tampered with.

He was meant to respond to these allegations at a media briefing this past weekend, but he failed to show up. This as the Democratic Alliance has also accused Gwamanda of fraudulent activity involving his company.

The City of Johannesburg has failed to retain a mayor for more than six months, as coalition politics grips the municipality.
