Despite the City of Cape Town’s dam levels being sufficient, it doesn’t provide a sense of water security following the 2018 Day Zero threat.

The municipality says it’s aiming to provide a resilient, water-secure future for residents; stressing that they are working towards increasing water supply by an extra 300 million litres of water every day by 2030.

This is part of the city’s long-term water strategy plans to reduce Cape Town’s dependence on rainfall.

The city believes that this measure will also help in the face of climate change, and the possibility of future droughts.
