The City of Cape Town is looking to support mobile businesses through making spaces available for food trucks and others in that sector.
Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, James Vos has told Radio 786 that the Mobile Business Policy will be presented to the relevant Portfolio Committee this Friday.
It will then go out for public participation, and likely go ahead by the end of the year.
Vos says that this is one way to help bolster the informal economy in the City.
He says that this sector contributes greatly to the economy and needs more support and visibility.
Vos also notes that they are working to demarcate more areas for informal traders, which will put them in places that make business sense.
