Chicken meat ball curry

INGREDIENTS

Curry:

  • 3 large onions (sliced)
  • 100g butter
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 2 stick cinnamon
  • 2 cardamom
  • 2 large tomatoes (blended)
  • 1 tbsp garlic and ginger paste
  • 1 tbsp ground fennel
  • 1 tbsp ground coriander
  • ½ tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste

Chicken balls:

  • 1 kg chicken mince
  • 1 large onion (finely diced)
  • 4 slices of white bread (ground into breadcrumbs)
  • 1 tsp ground fennel
  • 1tsp ground coriander
  • 1tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 3 green chillies (thinly sliced)
  • 1 heaped teaspoon garlic and ginger paste
  • 1 hand full coriander (chopped)
  • 1 hand full parsley (chopped)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt

METHOD

Curry:

Sauté onions in butter and oil with whole spices until soft and translucent. Add in ground spices, tomatoes, tomato paste and garlic and ginger paste. Cook for 20-30 minutes adding water occasionally and stirring occasionally.

Chicken balls:

Combine all ingredients in a bowl, then roll them into balls then add directly to the curry. Simmer for 15-20minutes till cooked .Garnish with freshly cut coriander and serve with savoury rice or roti.
