Commuters will be facing further stress, as taxi operators falling under Santaco, have withdrawn their services with immediate effect.
The taxi association’s Nazeem Abdurahman spoke to Radio 786 after today’s meeting, in which members reaffirmed their stance that the City of Cape Town is using selective enforcement.
Abdurahman says that it’s unfair that traffic officials impound taxis for drivers who do not wear a seat belt.
The strike is in place until Thursday, August 10.
