To what extent can an IT breach or cyber attack such as the likes of the one at Transnet damage a business?

After the initial attack, Transnet continues to feel the knock-on effects with severe disruptions to its operations.

The sabotage has seen the delivery of perishable food – that are stuck in containers and freight trucks – halted. Neighbouring countries are now considering other ports as alternatives to South Africa. While Transnet says they are still investigating the cause of the breach if left unattended, how detrimental can it prove?
