Police have been deployed to restore order in the Philippi East and Nyanga areas following several attacks on property.
At least four vehicles were torched including two Golden Arrow buses. Two other vehicles were also stoned and damaged.
The attacks which took place as people were heading to work – occurred in New Eisleben Road, Govan Mbeki Drive, Borcherds Quarry Drive.
Police spokesperson Joseph Swartbooi says cases of malicious damage to property, and arson have been registered for further investigation.
The motives for these attacks are still unclear at this stage. But its suspected that the attacks may be linked to the taxi industry.
