The bullet that was used to kill Palestinian veteran journalist Shireen Abu Akleh during an Israeli raid in the occupied West Bank in May will be handed over to the United States authorities for examination.
The Palestinian Authority agreed to transfer the bullet. According to forensic experts, the bullet was green-tipped and designed to pierce armor when shot from an M4 rifle. T
he bullet, which was extracted from Abu Akleh’s head was analysed using 3D models and was found to be a 5.56mm calibre – the same used by Zionist Israeli forces.
The United Nations (UN) human rights office said that information it had gathered showed that the bullet used to murder Abu Akleh was indeed fired by Israeli forces on May 11th.
