Capetonians should brace themselves for an extended cold front. This, as the South African Weather Service, has upgraded the storm warning in the Western Cape to orange level 8, and orange level 6 for Cape Town.
Thousands of Capetonians have already been affected by this week’s heavy downpours. Just over 5700 shacks have been flooded across the metro. Colder temperatures, heavy downpours, and gale-force winds are expected to continue until Thursday evening.
City of Cape Town Disaster Risk Management teams remains on standby to assist affected communities. Support is being offered to affected communities, such as milling, hot meals, and blankets.
