Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the murder of a 17-year-old boy in Langa.

The deceased identified as Wisdom Anyawu was stabbed during the early hours of Saturday morning.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with his murder. The suspect appeared in the Bishop Lavis Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Bonteheuwel ward councillor Angus McKenzie says the teenager was one of Bonteheuwel High School’s top learners and was expected to receive his successful matric results in the coming weeks. He further notes that Wisdom not only lived up to his name but ensured that he played his part in bridging the cultural divide between Bonteheuwel and Langa.
