Brazilian man who strapped drugs to his body & smuggled it into SA to remain behind bars

A Brazilian man who allegedly tried to smuggle a consignment of drugs into South Africa is set to remain behind bars for now.

The 36-year-old Risclif Tadue Ramos case was postponed to next Tuesday in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court in Gauteng.

The suspect was found with 4kg of cocaine after landing at OR-Tambo International Airport in Gauteng.

The drugs were wrapped around his body.

The Hawks were acting on information about a drug mule arriving from Brazil. Ramos faces charges of contravening the Drugs and Drug Trafficking Act.
