A Bonteheuwel creche where an eight-month-old baby was allegedly found unresponsive has been ordered to shut down.

The Western Cape Education Department says it issued a closure notice after it was found that the facility did not comply with the norms and standards under the Children’s Act.

The Linda’s Daycare Centre has until August 2nd to close.

Little Mohammed Qiran Canterbury was declared dead after being rushed to a local medical facility. The cause of his death is still unclear at this stage. Police indicate that they are unable to divulge the contents of his autopsy.
