The three week-long search for missing six-year-old Khayalethu Magadla has come to an end.
His body was found at the Eldorado Park Cemetery wastewater plant yesterday afternoon.
Acting Chief of Emergency Services in Soweto, Noma Mjali says for the last couple of days rescue teams were trying to reduce the water levels of the manholes to allow them to go in.
“Teams entered at different manholes in search for Magadla’s body which was found 20km from where he had disappeared.” said Mjali.
Mjali explains that that the strong current from the water plants, including the heavy rains experienced pushed the child’s body further away.
The family immediately identified the body.
