The Israeli occupation regime is playing politics with the lives of Palestinians incarcerated in its notorious jails.

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas says no progress has been made on a prisoner exchange. A senior member of Hamas Zaher Jabbarin says the Israeli procrastination is due to Zionist leaders trying to make electoral gains at the expense of the Palestinian prisoners.

Hamas has vowed that that Israeli settlers held in the besieged Gaza Strip will not see the light of day until Palestinian inmates are released.

At least four occupation soldiers are said to be held by the resistance since 2014. Nothing is known about their fate.

More than 7,000 Palestinians are reportedly held in Zionist jails with hundreds kept under the illegal practice of so-called administrative detention. A practice where Palestinian are held indefinitely without trial or charge.
