Two alleged hitmen are expected to appear in a Cape Town court.

The pair suspected to have links to the notorious Terrible Josters gang in Eerste River were arrested on Monday night in connection with an attempted murder that took place earlier this month in Kleinvlei.

Police say the suspects aged 22 and 18 were traced and arrested in the Heather Park area in Eerste River by the Anti-Gang Unit who were following up on information.

The gun allegedly used in the crime was also recovered. Police say they found a 9mm semi-automatic Vector pistol and magazine abandoned in an open field in the vicinity of La Provence Street in Eerste River. The serial number was removed and the gun has been sent for ballistic testing. The breakthrough was made a day after the arrests.
