Foreign backed militants have reportedly entered the Syrian capital Damascus.
Leaders from the terrorist organisation Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) announced the toppling of the Syrian government after their forces entered just over 10 days after launching an attack that saw little to no opposition from the Syrian military.
Meanwhile, in a televised message the Syrian Prime Minister Mohammad Ghazi al-Jalali said that he is ready to cooperate with any leadership chosen by the Syrian people and affirmed that he is prepared to undertake a handover process.
No official information has yet been released about the whereabouts of President Bashar al-Assad.
