Malusi’s Booi multi-billion tender fraud case postponed to 16th October

The case against former Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements, Malusi Booi, and his nine co-accused has been postponed to October 16 for further investigations.

It will also allow for the alleged 28s gang boss, Ralph Stanfield, and his wife, Nicole Johnson, to be added to the indictment.

Booi and four of the co-accused were granted bail of R 250 000 each. This, as the others received bail of R 25 000 each.  They face charges related to a R1 billion tender fraud within the City’s Human Settlements directorate.

Court conditions prohibit contact with witnesses and restrict travel outside their provinces. The case continues as the accused await trial.
