The City of Cape Town has flagged a growing number of incidents where suspects attack law enforcement officers while carrying out their duties. The City has since arrested a taxi driver who stabbed an officer with his keys, and used the officers’ pepper spray on them in a bid to evade arrest. In a separate incident, a motorist struck a metro police officer at a checkpoint in Klipfontein Road. What is behind this kind of behaviour?
