The splitting of the moon is a phenomenon mentioned in Islamic tradition as a miracle performed by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

It is said to have occurred in the early days of Islam, when the Prophet was in Mecca. According to the tradition, the Prophet pointed to the moon and split it into two halves, which then reunited.
