The State Security Agency is sharpening its measures to deal with a surge in cyber security attacks.
In her Budget Vote, Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni says these measures would require specialised skills and coordination with various parties in and out of government.
This as she acknowledged that criminals are using more sophisticated technologies and strategies to strike ICT infrastructure. She says these cyber-attacks poses a threat not only to the individual targets but the economic value chain in the services these entities provide.
Plans are afoot to accelerate the implementation of the National Cyber Security Framework.
Government also plans to recalibrate and capacitate the National Communications Centre to be more responsive to cyber security threats.
