The ANC says the Basic Education Amendment Laws (BELA) Bill has followed a fair process.
The ruling party notes that it expects the bill to be signed into law by President Cyril Ramaphosa soon. Their sentiments come as the National Assembly is set to consider and adopt the bill when it meets for the last time in the sixth Parliamentary term.
ANC MP Nombuyiselo Adoons says Parliament must adopt the bill, so it joins the National Health Insurance (NHI) and becomes law.
Many South African parents and some opposition parties have voiced their concern over the implementation of the controversial bill and the effects it would have on teachers and learners.
