Another Western Cape man has been arrested for allegedly being part of a group of online child sexual predators. The 25-year-old man was arrested on Friday in Mossel Bay. It follows an operation by local police and the Serial and Electronic Crime Investigations (SECI) Unit, with the help of the US Department of Homeland Security.

Police spokesperson, Brigadier Athlenda Mathe says that they had seized the suspect’s devices in January. The National Prosecuting Authority’s spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila meanwhile says that the man is accused of possession of child pornography, and / or child sexual abuse material images.

To date, eight people have been arrested in connection with this child abuse ring. Police are tracing the remaining 19 people.
