The Israeli campaign has been pressurizing United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) donors to sanction them for decades.
Speaking to Radio 786, physician and researcher working on community health in Palestine, Layth Hanbali says this pressure has already seen a significant cut in donations to the relief agency, negatively impacting its ability provide much-needed services to displaced Palestinians.
Hanbali’s comments come amid the backdrop of the United States suspending funding to UNRWA in Gaza as Israel continues its relentless genocidal war on the enclave.
Since the 7th October, Israel has been intensifying its campaign to halt medication and food supplies from entering the enclave. Top Palestinian officials and Hamas have criticized the decision, which was also backed by Australia, and the United Kingdom, to halt financial support.
